Note that this procedure requires a game code for each owned game branch and that a Paradox Interactive account is needed to view those codes for input into Steam. This rollback procedure can be found on the Paradox Forums. Be aware that the game is normally on automatic updates and once Man the Guns (version 1.6) is released, then version 1.5.4 saved games will not work unless the game is rolled back to the matching version. If the saved game version and checksum do not match the game version and checksum, then the saved game will not work. Saved games are set to the game version and checksum that are currently playing. Game version - Observe that the graphic shows game version 1.5.4 and checksum 1503.

  • Hopefully, someone from Paradox comes along and reads this because if you could come away with anything from this, it's that I'm not alone in sharing these opinions. This is mainly to open up a discussion among other people who play multplayer to comment about these issues and their experiences. The balancing between multiplayer and singleplayer needs to be seperate. However, Paradox needs to do serious work on multiplayer to balance it and fix many issues. This isn't so much a list of reasons why I hate multiplayer. I don't want to spend four hours playing a multplayer game only for it be trolled. While I am no angel with this (I have raged at people stacking factions) it comes at a point where the community needs to stop doing things for the "lols" and start considering the other players as well as their little group of friends.

Teamspeak (which is very common in multplayer) is often full of rage and people hating on each other. I've seen people ban and kick people for no obvious reason, simply for trying to suggest rules for the match or saying I don't think we need this or simply whining they didn't get their favorite country. Then they leave, causing the server now to be all messed up, and causing a rehost because you absolutely NEED a player in these three countries. I've seen three people band together as say Germany, the Soviets, and the USA and start trolling everyone else using ways I've explained before. Lastly, while it isn't so much a complaint, just an observation, that the community at times in multplayer can be cancerous as ♥♥♥♥. While a lot of it can be at fault with players, I feel there must be a way to atleast fix some of these problems. Why have 32 slot servers where most people just kick whoever joins when around 16 or so are in the game? A game is a month in and already five different people have issues with desync and gamemodes, causing a cycle of rehosts until it gets going. In my opinion, the tension system doesn't work (for multiplayer atleast) and it doesn't stop the Facist and Communist countries from going litterely crazy with wars, while the Democratics stand by not able to do anything.Īnother issue is the amount of desync and gamemode errors that occur in multplayer. Paradox has even stated that, "Hearts of Iron 4 was balanced for singleplayer first." This is something that came up in the Three Day War Livestream recently where Daniel wiped the floor against everyone.

War usually breaks out late 1936 or 1937 and they are still vastly underprepared for that time. The UK has that ♥♥♥♥ recruitable population modifier that goes away too late into the game to anything. A good player can keep France democratic and safe but it usually goes Communist. Democratic nations (except US) are basically unplayable in multiplayer unless you want to get your ♥♥♥ kicked. These people also starts coups in every country before leaving. I've played several matches where people troll, turning say the Soviets, Americans, or Germans another ideology before leaving, which destroys the balance and gameplay of the entire match. The majority of matches have players usually all either joining the Axis or Commintern. However, the problem I have with it is the multiplayer experience.įor the majority of my time playing multplayer, the game has been plagued by balancing issues, trolls, and stacked factions. It's much more accessible than HOI3 and when mods and patches start coming out it'll be great.
